19 of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been won on hardcourt
A resurgent Medvedev won his first trophy for 882 days with success over Corentin Moutet in the tournament title decider.
The Russian, a ex- number one, has experienced a torrid year, managing just one win at the big events and suffering a meltdown at the American major.
The player's varied form on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his service game in particular - led to him exiting of the world's top 10 and ultimately parting ways with former mentor Gilles Cervara.
Now collaborating with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has gradually advanced in the recent weeks - peaking in a tightly fought competitive triumph over challenger Corentin Moutet.
This marks his initial trophy after the Italian tournament and maiden on a hardcourt since March of 2023.
The win also means Medvedev has achieved twenty-one titles at twenty-one distinct competitions.
"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a event with my children together, so to secure a title is especially meaningful," said tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in dedication of my younger daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I got when my older daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his last six finals, featuring in Halle previously this season.
The player's retrieving approach and recurring emotional displays on the playing surface had caused observers to doubt if his skill to perform at the top level was finished.
But the 29-year-old has made changes in the past month, attempting to advance forward and play positively, backed up by an enhanced serving game.
He came back from a disadvantage in the opening set against the tricky Frenchman, winning 4 of the concluding five exchanges to gain the advantage.
The pair exchanged service breaks in the following set before the challenger, bidding for his first ATP Tour victory, gained dominance to create a third set.
The opponent rescued 4 early chances in a competitive third set before the champion won the break to 15 to secure the win.
Suitably, he secured the title with a shot at the net area, with the Frenchman incapable to control a shot after a lengthy match.
