Performer Refutes Anti-Vaxxer Stance After Voicing Disputed Coronavirus Feature

Liam Neeson has provided his vocal talents to a new documentary that challenges the efficacy of vaccines and commends one-time health official RFK Jr.

The Film's Provocative Basis

Named "Plague of Corruption," the film is inspired by a bestselling book published by a disgraced researcher, who became famous during the global outbreak for allegations that the illness was a result of a bad strain of the flu vaccine.

The publication's collaborator, a producer, has previously authored books with controversial radio host the Infowars host. Heckenlively wrote online praising Neeson's involvement in the documentary.

An Unequivocal Denial

A spokesperson for the actor have issued a comment strongly denying claims that he supports anti-immunization beliefs.

"Many recognize that corruption might be present within the medical sector, but that should never be confused with opposition to vaccines," the response explains. "He is not, and remains not, anti-vaccination. His considerable work with Unicef highlights his consistent support for public-health initiatives."

The response noted that the performer did not shape the project's messaging and that inquiries about its assertions are best addressed to the filmmakers.

Key Assertions Featured in the Documentary

According to the documentary, the narration provided by Neeson features several controversial statements:

  • It claims that pro-immunization voices have called for "unconditional submission" to public institutions.
  • It declares that "medical science has become highly politicized."
  • RFK Jr is interviewed stating, "The big problem with vaccines is that they are not properly vetted."
  • It takes aim at pandemic restrictions, arguing they caused mental anguish that resulted in thousands of lives.
  • On the topic of the immunizations, it references a perspective that they were "developed too quickly" and seen as "hazardous tests."

Past Context and Current Issues

The documentary also references a 2004 BBC documentary about AIDS medication trials on children, which was later the focus of a formal apology by the corporation for violations of guidelines.

Last month, Kennedy directed the national health agency to change its longstanding position that there is no link between immunizations and autism spectrum disorder. This assertion is echoed in the documentary, despite a fresh analysis from the World Health Organisation reiterating no such link has been found.

A Previous Record of Support

Contrasting the documentary's tone, Neeson has formerly shown clear advocacy for vaccines in his capacity as a charity ambassador.

Two years ago, he called vaccines as "an incredible triumph," noting that "The debate about vaccines in recent years has forgotten how much good they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest collective achievements in human history."

"Plague of Corruption" concludes with Neeson's narration saying, "This marks not the conclusion of our story. This is the beginning of a different phase."
