Damp conditions were predicted to continue along significant areas of eastern Queensland this next several days as a weather pattern continued to draw in moisture against the shoreline.

Tuesday was expected to become the heaviest precipitation period, with continued thunderstorm potential anticipated across different parts of both states.

Medical authorities warned that there was an higher risk of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the state's northern country region, particularly given the existing atmospheric conditions.
